Cheddar is an exploration atmospheric qualities, both architectural—a fuzzy, borderless atmospheric quality, and tonal—of an observed color palette. The color palette was defined through an survey of cheddar cheese flavored snack foods, to arrive at four colors which synesthetically encapsulate cheddar. Architecturally, these colors were assigned to perforations of varying density—similar to a four color printing process—to create an screen with real and pictorial depth. This screen was then wrapped around an object to create an internal, captured space.
